Tinkergarten Classes with Nature Play, NJ!
Join us for a Fall Lantern Walk at dusk on Sunday, November 5th!
Tinkergarten Fall Lantern Walks are happening all over the country. The Walk has become a magical tradition, designed to help kids and grown ups alike welcome the darkness of winter and embrace this natural change with joy.
Bring your own lantern - or make one with instructions in the activity guide below.
The event begins with a gathering and then we will go for a brief walk with our lanterns as dusk falls. Meet at the Barden, 600 Snowden Lane. Battery-powered tea lights will be available at the event to safely light up your lanterns on our walk.
It’s free and open to all! Please bring friends and neighbors—the more the merrier!
Co-sponsored by Tinkergarten Classes with Nature Play, NJ! Walk led by local Tinkergarten instructor, Anne Louise Ennis.

Make a Fall Lantern!
From Diwali to the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrated in China and Vietnam to Germany's St. Martin's Day festival, cultures around the world celebrate late fall and early winter with festivals of light. This time of year is an incredible opportunity to stop and be mindful of the cycles of nature. It is also a chance to teach kids not to fight but to lean into change—a habit of mind that will help them navigate life. And, what better way to construct a learning moment than to take children outdoors at night with a colorful lantern that they have made?
